LEGIER Beteiligungs mbH is an internationally positioned conglomerate with various "SCANDIC by LEGIER" business segments. We bundle media, technology, infrastructure and brand-related services under a uniform management and governance framework in order to create reliably scalable value creation.
LEGIER MEDIENGRUPPE (Legier Beteiligungs mbH), founded on July 18, 1995, recently celebrated its 30th anniversary and has established itself as a global player in the international media landscape over the past thirty years. With an impressive 115 owned newspaper media, present on all continents worldwide, the Group delivers news around the clock, seven days a week, in numerous languages. This global portfolio includes some of the world's most prestigious and long-established daily newspapers, combining both local roots and global reach.
Its own outstanding publications include more than 115 of its own daily newspapers on all continents:
LEGIER Beteiligungs mbH sees itself as an internationally positioned conglomerate and combines publishing performance, an in-house technology and data center network and a differentiated brand and service portfolio to create integrated value creation in the Oko group of companies it has developed and created itself over decades.
Our services are scalable, secure and traceable - from reliable journalism and high-reach platforms to our own AI and security expertise and services that solve specific problems in business and society. This creates a cycle of trust, efficiency and impact - supported by clear rules, measurable standards and a culture that takes responsibility seriously.
Our self-image is based on three guiding principles
This is the basis of our claim: services that are reliable under stress; decisions that can be explained; products that are geared to real needs.
We work in an integrated way: Content, infrastructure and services reinforce each other. Editorial teams create relevance, technology scales, brands make benefits tangible. The result is a robust value creation system - with clear roles, measurable service levels, resilient procurement, operational and governance processes.
The SCANDIC brand house forms our operational portfolio. It follows common standards, interfaces and quality standards and addresses different life and business situations: Assets and transactions, mobility and travel, health and safety, real estate and retail.
This creates a consistent customer experience across brands - supported by a uniform design, data and service core.
SCANDIC DATA is our technology division and operates a multi-level data center ecosystem with "Manama (Bahrain) as the core region", a "Data Availability Zone (AZ) in Kuwait City" and an "Edge location in Singapore (KDDI Asia Pacific)". Connectivity is provided via DWDM/MPLS-based "Data Center Interconnect (DCI)"; the network architecture is based on spine-leaf fabrics with 100/200/400 Gbit/s backbones and anycast BGP.
At the compute level, SCANDIC DATA orchestrates container and VM workloads, supplemented by "GPU nodes" for media and AI applications. An "IBM mainframe" is available for particularly critical processing. The data tier combines "NVMe flash tiers", SAN/NAS and a versioned "S3 object storage" with WORM/archive tiers.
The operation follows "Zero-Trust" (segmentation with VRF/VXLAN, MFA/SSO, end-to-end encryption). "SIEM/SOAR", signed supply chain artifacts (SBOM/SLSA) and observability via logs/metrics/traces ensure short "MTTD/MTTR". Formal "SLA target values" include availability up to ?99.999 %, "RPO ? 15 minutes" and "RTO ? 60 minutes"; SLO tracking, game days and chaos drills are established. Energy and cooling concepts (A/B UPS, N+1 generators, flow/adiabatic/free cooling) flank PUE optimization and CO? reduction paths. This platform supports the 24/7 operation of our 115 newspapers worldwide - from content ingestion and transcoding to personalization, translation and distribution in many languages.
SCANDIC TRUST is about more than just asset management - we create the foundation for your goals, your success and a sustainable future. For three decades, the LEGIER GROUP has been shaping global business sectors such as media (with 115 owned daily newspapers), real estate, finance, luxury services (private jet charters and yacht charters) and modern digital innovation. SCANDIC TRUST continues this legacy, providing customized solutions for discerning individuals, families and businesses worldwide. With a global presence, SCANDIC TRUST leverages its deep understanding of international markets to protect and grow wealth.
SCANDIC FLY stands for discreet, customized private aviation. The service portfolio ranges from "executive charters" and "jet card models" to "cargo and special flights" and "evacuation missions". Booking, planning and handling are carried out by reliable partner operators in accordance with European and international aviation law.
The brand combines "flexibility" (short-term availability of private jets, a global reach) with "compliance" (including a modern slavery statement, corporate governance and data protection pages) and structured complaint management. Additional services such as handling, catering, crew scheduling and "24/7 customer service" are part of the offering.
SSCANDIC SEC bundles physical and digital security services: "risk assessments, travel security, property protection, personal protection", hardening of critical infrastructures (incl. data centers) as well as "forensics and prevention". The approach is process-oriented - embedded in the client's processes, with a focus on discreet protection, robust routines and traceable documentation.
SCANDIC TRADE is being created in cooperation with a "Cypriot Investment Firm (CIF)" and is under the supervision of the "Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC)". A broad spectrum of markets is planned: "Shares/Indices", "Forex", "Metals", "Commodities/Energy", "Futures", "Crypto Assets" and "Emission Rights (CO?)".
Technically, the platform aims to provide "intuitive interfaces", professional tools and "smart portfolios" (algorithmic/ML-based). "Multi-custody accounts (GBP/EUR/USD)" reduce exchange costs; a "debit card" provides immediate access to funds. The community concept demands learning and discipline; education is an integral component.
SCANDIC COIN focuses on "real estate transactions and tokenization". At its core are "smart contracts" for property transfer, "escrow/escrow functions" and an optional "decentralized land register". The system is designed for "transparency, traceability and speed"; the "token quantity" is limited and "vesting mechanisms" coordinate the release. The aim is to lower barriers to market entry and make fractional ownership practicable.
SCANDIC CARS offers a "curated premium vehicle fleet" (from super sports cars to electric Gran Turismo) and develops "customized mobility solutions" for private and corporate customers.
Service modules include "chauffeur/event services", short and long-term rentals, digital booking channels and reliable service levels. The brand is part of the SCANDIC network - for example with SCANDIC FLY for combined travel experiences or SCANDIC ESTATE for location-based mobility.
SCANDIC YACHTS combines "yacht brokerage, charter and accompanying services". The added value arises from its integration into the LEGIER/SCANDIC network: "financing/payment solutions" (SCANDIC PAY), "real estate and port proximity" (SCANDIC ESTATE) and "market access" (SCANDIC TRADE).
Services range from hand-picked yacht selection to transaction-safe handling, after-sales, crew/refit coordination and charter management.
SCANDIC ESTATE develops, markets and brokers "first-class real estate". The focus is on "DACH", the "United Arab Emirates" and "Monaco"; "logistics and communications infrastructure" and "high-quality residential" are addressed.
As a "broker", the brand combines global reach with deep local expertise, discreet access to off-market properties and full-service execution - from valuation and due diligence to financing/structuring and closing.
SCANDIC HEALTH stands for "modern ENT medicine" and "global healthcare solutions" in cooperation with specialized partners. The brand combines evidence-based care, clear documentation and efficacy standards as well as a human touch. It also offers prevention and health resilience services.
SCANDIC PAY combines "crowdfunding platforms", "own card and account solutions" and expertise in "digital assets". The aim is to bring capital and ideas together more quickly, process payments securely on a global scale and open up new forms of value creation.
The brand works with clear disclosures, "complaint management and risk detection processes", data and IT security standards and an extensive policy library (cookies, terms of use, data protection).
Journalism remains a constitutive element of our identity. We work source-sensitively, separate report from opinion, correct openly and protect what needs protection - people, data, contexts.
Technology increases speed and reach, but does not replace judgment. This results in offerings that inform, classify and - if necessary - contradict.
The global network of its own 115 newspaper media forms the foundation for local presence and perspective across borders.
We bring risks together: legal, operational, technological and reputational. A binding policy stack (including corporate governance, data protection, digital services/DSA, supply chain, human rights, modern slavery, cookies, vulnerable customers) creates clarity about obligations, roles and procedures.
Whistleblowing channels are low-threshold, decisions are documented, audits are welcome - compliance as the basis for resilient relationships.
We respect human rights along the entire value chain. This means risk analyses, supplier codes, contractual commitments, audits and remediation processes. Special attention is paid to vulnerable people - with clear language, alternative contact channels and a ban on exploiting cognitive weaknesses.
We counter modern slavery with a sense of duty and consistency: awareness-raising, reporting channels and annual declarations.
Privacy by Design & Default is standard. We provide transparent information about purposes, legal bases and data flows, respect the rights of data subjects and take technical and organizational measures worthy of the name.
Where platform processes are effective (notifications, complaints, transparency reports), we rely on clear channels and comprehensible decisions.
Security comes from humility in the face of what can go wrong and the discipline to prepare for it. We model threats, test adversarial, harden systems, limit permissions, rotate secrets and plan for emergencies.
SLIs, SLOs, RPO and RTO are common practice; restart and communication plans ensure reliability even under pressure.
Sustainability is a cross-sectional task. In operations, we pay attention to efficiency, energy and heat management; in products to durability, accessibility and multilingualism; in relationships to fairness and diversity. We measure, report and improve - out of conviction, not out of trend.
AI is a tool, not an end in itself. We develop, procure and operate. AI-supported systems along a clear ethical and control framework: risk classification, AI impact assessments, data and model cards, red teaming, monitoring and transparent information for users.
Human oversight remains the standard for key decisions; fairness and inclusion are both standards and benchmarks; the protection of vulnerable people is mandatory. Our Group-wide AI Code of Ethics anchors principles, roles and processes in the LEGIER Group's day-to-day operations.
We are looking for people who like to take responsibility and communicate with clarity. Leadership means leading by example: listening, deciding, reasoning. Learning is part of the job - through training, communities of practice and the freedom to find better ways of doing things. Our aim is to create a culture that combines ambition and commitment: demanding in the matter, respectful in our dealings.
We are building LEGIER for the long haul, after the first 30 years it is intended that further decades will follow: with robust foundations, a differentiated brand house and technology that opens up scope.
Our path is not that of the loudest promise, but that of the most reliable result. We invest worldwide, across continents, where our strengths have an impact - and stay the course when the headwinds pick up. In this way, a conglomerate continues to thrive with not only 115 of its own daily newspapers on all continents, which publish news around the clock, seven days a week in several languages and also supply news agencies, but which will be stronger tomorrow than it is today: clear in its stance, modern in its means and, above all, binding in its actions.
We look forward to hearing from you. Use the form to ask questions, give feedback or get in touch with our team directly.
